Jim brings more than 40 years of experience and values-based leadership to his work and his life. His Senate-confirmed appointment as the Deputy Administrator of NASA, elevation to the Senate Appropriations Committee Staff Director, and selection as the Deputy Sergeant at Arms of the Senate reflect the recognition of his diverse skills, leadership, education, and integrity.
At NASA, Jim was charged with helping to formulate the agency’s strategic vision and mission and to run the day-to-day operations. As the Sergeant at Arms, he was responsible for the security and operations of the United States Senate.
He earned his JD from Georgetown University, and his MBA from George Washington University. He is a member of the Bar in Washington DC and Pennsylvania.
Jim has served on the Board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and on the Board of Trustees for Saint Francis University. Jim resides in Virginia and has two children and three grandchildren.
